S62 Intake Air Temp Sensor Relocation Kit

Here’s another product from Bimmerzone.com. The UFMotorsport S62 Air Temp Sensor Relocation Kit is designed for the E39 M5 manufactured from 1999-2003. Since the airflow meters of these engines are located near the hot radiator, the factory sensor has been know to send inaccurate readings to the DME. So when the DME receives these false high readings, the engine’s performance is affected because the fuel to air mixture ratio can be incorrect for the actual ambient temperature.

This kit enables you to transfer the temperature sensor to the lower front of the car. In its new location near the air dam, where  it will always send the real temperature reading to the engine’s DME. This simple modification will greatly improve your car’s performance.

This site also lists all the parts that are included in this kit. There is also a discussion of important installation points. At the bottom of the page is more information about the Bosch sensor that comes with this package.
