E39 M5′s Brake Glows in the Dark

This E39 M5 is caught by the camera’s lens with brakes glowing in the dark. At its most technical level a brake decelerates a moving object by converting its kinetic energy into another form of energy – heat. In this picture taken by Pendolino last year,  it looks like the car’s brakes produced a ton of electric energy and you are actually looking at the brake rotor heated up.  This IS NOT SOME PHOTOSHOP TRICKERY – it’s the real deal.

This picture was actually taken in a military airfield where these guys did some extreme driving. The pictures sure came out fantastic.

Just the right color and contrast that brings out the E39 M5′s classy look and glowing front rotor.

DEFINITELY one of the cooler pictures I’ve seen in a while of the Beast! :)
