E39 M5 Rain Shot

An E39 M5 cruising in the rain must be a perfect formula for a classic shot. I found this picture at Goncas’ photostream at Flickr and am struck by the pictures elegance and simplicity.

At first glance, it looks like an old black and white photo. Until you see the spots of color on the plate number in the front bumper of the car.

The camera captured the falling rain as well as the little drops of water on the car’s roof. And the silvery road helps in suggesting motion too. Simplicity is certainly one of the attributes of a classic, elegant car and picture. And thank god that the M engineers gave the E39 M5 DSC!

If are considering this car – consider my m5 video guide – it’s like full e39 m5 review, but on video. :)
