E39 M5 Exhaust
This is a cool vid of an E39 m5 cruising around the neighborhood. There are lots of good posts on M5board.com about this mod that involves straight exhaust pipes. The total cost of $400 certainly makes it affordable.
A good bang for the buck kind of modification, says one viewer. Compared to the $2000 Tubi system, this mod is indeed affordable. It is an OEM resonator, muffler delete that is done on the car. This means a straight pipe is installed that flows to the magna tips.

The vid is all about the sound of the E39 M5 exhaust with everything closed and later, with a vented sunroof. You can also hear the hoarse sound inside the car with sunroof opened and sunroof closing for the impaired. The windows were further opened and you can hear the clear, raspy sound of the BMW E39 M5 as it shifted to second gear, with a 3000-5000 rpm. A small comic relief was provided when the tripod fell and the vid continued on to the fifth gear.

Hey, that’s my video! The 720p HD version, posted on Youtube, has a 320kbs Audio track, which is more clear than this version. Search Youtube for “E39 M5 Exhaust Straight Pipes”, you will see an HD logo next to it. Enjoy!
