E39 M5 Alarm Replacement

If you want to upgrade your m5 E39 ‘s alarm from the old wolf whistle sound to the cooler and more modern, road runner beep, then read on.

The parts needed for this do it yourself job are the wolf whistle chirp siren and the road runner beep siren. You would also need the following tools; small flat head screw driver, needle nose pliers, 1/4 inch ratchet, extension, 8mm, 10mm, 13 mm socket, wheel service tools, jack, jack stand and wheel chocks. It is good to use rubber gloves and provide for a good work light too.

These mod is actually done on a US-spec 1997 BMW 54oiA so do a double check with your local dealer before doing the job. However, the same procedure could work on the E39 M5.
