DIY Spark Plug Replacement for the E39 M5

This do it yourself site for BMW E39 M5 owners was posted in an m5board.com bulletin. As we know, the spark plug, which is an electrical device that fits into the head of the internal combustion engine and ignites the fuel by producing an electric spark, is an important car accessory. Duh :)

Anyway – To do the job, keep the following tools handy: 3/8″ rachet, long 3/8″ extension. 3/8″ wobble joint, 10 mm socket, spark plug socket, torque wrench, flat head screw driver, lots of light, gloves and new spark plugs. NGK or Bosch are the preferred brands for the BMW.

This work requires small hands sometimes so get some help on this department if your hands are big. The last plug will be the most difficult to access near the firewall, but once the job is done, your s62 engine should be running much better.
