E39 M5 Angel Eyes

Photographer Turner Tots’ photo stream at Flickr.com includes this Le Mans blue E39 M5 with emphasis on the front bumper and its angel eyes.

The picture has a minimalist look with the shoot done inside a garage or an auto parts store. This is what makes it quite unique. Taken with a Nikon D40 and a maximum aperture value of 1.7, it comes out sharp and clean. And with the camera’s multi-segment metering and a one-chip color area sensing modes, the car’s exterior is greatly enhanced.

And look at those angel eyes, they are truly amazing. It makes the front bumper of the car alive and impressive.

E39 5 Series Stops for a Pictorial

This is not a picture of an E39 M5, but this one is still a nice looking e39 5 series taken in a scenic parking place. Using a Pentax Optio A20, the photographer optimized the use of natural lighting here.

Obviously taken on a beautiful, hot, sunny day near Paris, France- the flash did not even fire when this picture was taken. This is an excellent example of nature taking care of the photographer’s shoot. The well lighted background contrasts with the shadow cast by the trees and the car.

The silver E39 seems to show off its beautiful wheels. The front wheel is slightly turned to the left for a nice effect. I like the subtle shades of the shadows scattered in this photo.

E30 with M5 E39 V8 Engine

This is a recent post by Coffee.dk at his Flickr photo stream, featuring an E30 with an M5 E39 V8 engine. The picture is taken at Halanda, Vastra Gotaland in Sweden.

What is amazing about the photo is the evident strength of the E39 M5 V8 engine that caused a shower of snow behind the car. The white car races on a frozen lake and the look is pure and ethereal. This winter shot is favored by two people and is also featured at www.auto123.com and Ich weisse Autos page.

Winter’s natural landscape is one that is pleasing to the eye and the passing of the racing car seem to disrupt the scenery. In this way, the car catches the viewer’s attention.

Imola Red E39 M5

I came across this picture at the beastpower.com forum page. The owner of the car is Thomas who hails from Latvia.

Although an amateur photographer and no special effects were evidently used, this picture has an excellent composition. The baroque building in the background compliments the modern look of the Imola Red E39 M5. The schnitzer wheels look great too. And according to Thomas, he is saving up for an ESS Supercharger.

The combination of natural lighting and white lights coming from the building and the lamp post on the side enhanced this picture. The hint of blue sky and green leaves give the photo a much needed natural touch.

Carbonschwarz E39 M5

This Carbon Black E39 M5 shot was taken by photographer Robin Bien at the airport. Using a Nikon D80 camera, he made a 6 second exposure to come up with this dreamy feel. More details about the shot include an f/5.6 aperture, 80 mm focal length, ISO speed of 160 and exposure bias of 0/6 EV.

With a normal horizontal orientation and 72 dpi x and y resolution, the picture attained a clean and sharp look. The software used in editing this pic is Adobe Photoshop CS3 Windows. I like the line in the foreground which seems to point to the car. It gives the photo a subtle emphasis.

E39 M5 Model Shoot

I came across this picture at Linedan’s Flickr photo stream. It is his first attempt to use a model (his girlfriend, actually) with the E39 M5

He did a long exposure then blended with different layered shots of Canon bare flashes. Some comments noted that the girl does not have a shadow which made the picture look like it is photo shopped. I could agree to that but still the picture came out great. The color is great and the different lighting used on the model and the car does not really disturb the eye.

The elegance of the E39 M5 complimented the classy look of the model.

E39 M5 in the European Car Magazine

This is a picture taken for the 2003 European Car Magazine. It features a Supercharged 540i and an E39 M5 Turbo on Dyno & at 1/4 mile drag strip.

I like the informal look of the picture. The man standing with his camera on his hand seem to suggest that the picture taken is candid. The 540i and the E39 M5 seem like models taking their position in front of the camera and angling for a pose.

The headlamps being turned on but without the drivers inside suggest that these cars have wills of their own. I get the feeling that they can drive away with or without drivers steering them.

E39 M5 Shows Off Small Details

While taking a photograph of the entire BMW E39 M5 can result in many excellent shots, it is often the little details that actually makes your picture unique and interesting.

Btm Linedan’s's sharp camera lens caught this interesting rear detail of an E39 M5. The color combination came out excellent. The car looks shiny and soft to the touch. The camera that he used here is a Canon EOS 40D. With the two street lamps and the car’s headlamp used for lighting, the result is plainly beautiful.

E39 M5 in Focus

Car photography is becoming a popular subject among photo enthusiasts. And one of the most important steps is setting the scene of your picture.

In this picture, Robin Bien carefully chose his setting. The minimalist effect is evident here from the monotonous color to the choice of background. The lighting is warm and even, which shows off the car.The composition is interesting, giving the E39 M5 a poised personality.

I find the viewpoint creative here. The shot is done with the camera obviously low to the ground. It is a very clean shot, taking care not to catch shadows and reflections, consistent to its minimal look.

Sun, Snow and an E39 M5

Photographer Kfanciu took this picture of a white E39 M5 in a white background. Naturally not the best color combination.

But the blue sky casts a tinge of color just in the right places. The sunlight dramatically shines on the car giving it a wonderful glow. And the play of light and shadow completes the picture.
